Palazzo Lazzarini Town Museum and Art Gallery

Location

Morrovalle

The Town Museum was opened in 2004 and is situated on the piano nobile of the prestigious Palazzo Lazzarini, built in the 13th century with its Gothic portal with spiral columns.
The collection is mainly made up of works, ascribed to the period between the 16th and 18th centuries, originating from local churches, such as that of St. Augustine. Of particular note among the panels conserved in the collection is the Madonna del Soccorso [Our Lady of Help] attributed to the painter Marchisiano di Giorgio from Tolentino and the Sacra Conversazione [Sacred Conversation] traceable to the circles of Il Pomarancio. Also of note is the series of portraits of illustrious figures deriving from the 16th century collection of the humanist Paolo Giovio.
